Language: Russian Tutor: Yuliya Sofronova

Objectives

Students will review adjectives
When and how they are used, what are the synonyms and antonyms of them.
Practice using them.
Students will use listening comprehension to pick out those adjectives out of a song.

Materials needed

Paper and pencil or board/chalk
Projector and screen
Internet access
Printed out materials: lyrics of song with deleted words.

Activity:

Brain storm the students on all the adjectives they can remember and apposites to them. In the same time give them hints by putting the missing words from the song you will show them into the conversation. Adjectives they will need to pick out of the song.

Красивый – beautiful Страшный - ugly
Холодный - cold Теплый - warm
Медленный -slow Быстрый - fast
Грустный - sad Веселый – happy, joyful
Сильный –strong Слабый - weak
Сладкий – sweet Соленый – salty

Go over the list of adjectives by saing them out loud and letting students translate them.

Go over the song lyrics. Studen't will try to translate the lyrics of the song. Help them if you need so they know what the song is about.
Let them listen to the song a few times and fill in the blanks.

Discuss with studen't the ways those adjectives were used in the song, if they were used very artisticly or logicaly and if it helped them to fill in the blanks.
